So, i was getting these annoying pop-ups and no amount of Lavasoft adaware and Spybot-SD would fix it. And also, I think I deleted one of those application which started up on start up and I kept geting messages from windows, yada yada file not found.
Finally, I realized, a lot of a apps are not started from Startup folder but from "\Windows\Prefetch" folder.
So, if you have applications that startup w/o being listed in startup ... check out that folder and just deleted app.pf file. And u r good to go :-)
Also if you had Kontiki installed earlier, and deleted only Kontiki folder in program files...it won't work. Delete "\Windows\Kdk" folder too.
My PC is clean again..yippppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeee :-D
